Microsoft On-Demand Retirement - December 28, 2020

Microsoft Learning has recently decided to phase out the Microsoft On-Demand training courses. Microsoft is expected to announce new training alternatives to replace Microsoft On-Demand. Meanwhile, we aim to help you plan ahead to make the most of current and future purchases that may include Microsoft On-Demand courses as part of your training program.

Microsoft On-Demand courses will be phased out completely by December 28, 2020 under the following published schedule:

  • June 30, 2020: last day to order 90-day access course version
  • September 28, 2020: last day to activate Microsoft On-Demand courseware
  • December 28, 2020: final student use expiry date for all courses

Students who have not yet attended Microsoft On-Demand courses already purchased will need to do so before the course expiration date or the phase out date. If you or your staff are interested in taking specific courses before the phase out, you may view the list of Microsoft On-Demand courses currently being offered on our website. You can register for any of these classes until June 30, 2020 with 90-day access to attend.

As already announced, the last day to purchase Microsoft On-Demand courseware will be June 30, 2020. The last day to activate Microsoft On-Demand courseware in Skillpipe will be September 28, 2020. Therefore, all Microsoft On-Demand licenses that are purchased from April 1, 2020, will have a reduced validity. Instead of six months, the licenses can be activated in Skillpipe for three months. After this period, they will expire and can no longer be used.

If you have questions or concerns about the retirement of Microsoft On-Demand courses, please contact LRS Education Services for more information. We would be happy to assist with a customized strategy to maximize the effectiveness of your training program based on the retirement of Microsoft On-Demand.
