According to Microsoft Learning, with the coming of the eagerly anticipated Windows 10 exams, there will be some changes to Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 certifications.
The Windows 10 client exam will result in a Specialist certification. Given the overlap in the skills assessed on Windows 8.1 and 10 exams, which makes it possible to streamline these exams into a single exam, Microsoft plants to retire the Windows 8 MCSA certification and exams November 30, 2015.
Anyone who earned a Windows 8 MCSA will keep that MCSA on their transcript.
Beginning September 30, 2015, passing any one of the Windows 7 exams 680, 685, or 686 will result in a Specialist exam to streamline the Windows client certification offering. Anyone who had previously earned a Windows 7 MCSA will keep that MCSA on their transcript.
